EU Project Results: Pioneering technology seamlessly and securely verifies customer information found online

The Identity Assurance as a Service (IDAaaS) EU-funded project was initiated in 2017 to help regulated businesses across Europe to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements whilst simplifying user’s online onboarding experience. These are the results. 

The EU adopted eIDAS Regulations on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions which resulted in a fragmented landscape of electronic identity and complicated procedures for onboarding, consequentially becoming a barrier for businesses and people to access both national and cross-border financial services.

The Identity Assurance as a Service (IDAaaS) project was initiated in 2017 to help regulated businesses across Europe to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements whilst simplifying user’s online onboarding experience.

Signicat provides the most comprehensive suite of digital identity verification and authentication solutions globally, enabling a full digital customer journey from onboarding, authentication to electronic singing of legally-binding documents which stand the test of time. 

The IDAaaS project covers the digital onboarding component of Signicat’s Digital Identity Platform and the project consisted of two phases involving research of user’s onboarding experiences and piloting and commercialisation of onboarding solutions as part of Signicat’s Digital Identity Platform.
