Alisa Bank

Eliminated individual bank contracts leading to significantly reduced costs

Alisa Bank is a Finnish digital bank that helps both personal and business customers manage their day-to-day finances in a flexible and straightforward manner. Alisa Bank was founded in 2022 when Fellow Finance, the leading crowdfunding and peer-to-peer lending service in the Nordics, merged with the company that continued Evli Bank’s operations. The bank is especially known for its competitive deposit interest rates for savings accounts

Alisa Bank wanted to contract a single provider capable of supplying online authentication solutions in as many countries as possible, while at the same time reducing the overhead, both in terms of cost and resources, of its legacy in-house system.

The challenge

Prior to partnering with Signicat, online customer authentication at Alisa Bank, former Fellow Finance, was achieved through in-house integration with the Finnish TUPAS system. This meant maintaining technical interfaces and contracts with multiple banks, which was seen as an ineffective and expensive solution.

Alisa Bank wanted to reduce costs and resources allocated to the old customer authentication process by partnering with a single provider capable of supplying needed authentication solutions.

The solution

Signicat started to solve the issue by carefully assessing Alisa Bank’s core challenges, working closely with key stakeholders to define desired outcomes and subsequently onboard the appropriate solution successfully. Signicat concluded that the customer identification solution was the ideal fit for Alisa Bank in Finland and Denmark.

The result

Signicat’s customer authentication solution has made a significant impact at Alisa Bank. Since integrating the solution into Alisa Bank’s processes, the company no longer needs to maintain individual contracts with every bank, while Signicat handles the technical aspects from end to end. As a result, Alisa Bank estimates that it has saved a lot of costs associated with customer identification.
