Authentication has been used for a very long time, already back in Ancient Egypt, they used keys to protect valuables and used cryptography to protect secret documents. The way we authenticate has evolved a bit, but it is still the same underlying concept – you need to have access to the credentials to be able to get past the lock.

And where there are secrets and locked away valuables there are villains, trying to get access to things they are not authorized for. In this podcast, we discuss how the villains have become supervillains, and the different authentication mechanisms that have been used over time meant to protect us from these supervillains.

Andre Werup, the expert guest in this episode, brings light to strengths and weaknesses in authentication mechanisms used over time.
