Qualified certificates for electronic signatures
Signicat Spain (formerly known as Electronic IDentification) is as a Trust Services Provider and provides the service of offering qualified certificates for electronic signatures, according to eIDAS.
Signicat Spain (formerly know as Electronic IDentification) is a company which operates as a Trust Service Provider under Regulation (EU) nº 910/2014 of the European Parliament and Council, dated July 23rd, 2014, relating to electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions on the internal market, thus repealing Directive 1999/93/EC.
In addition, Law 6/2020, dated November 11th, relating to certain aspects of electronic trust services, provides under Article 16 that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation will publish the information forwarded on its Internet page by trust service providers, in order to give them maximum circulation and prominence.
The Enactment Decision of the Commission(EU) 2015/1505, dated September 8th, 2015, which establishes the technical specifications and formats relating to trust lists, in accordance with Article 22, paragraph 5, of Regulation (EU) Nº 910/2014 of the European Parliament and the Council, dated July 23rd, 2014, relating to electronic identification and trust services in matters of electronic transactions on the internal market requires, in accordance with the provisions of Article 22, paragraph 1 of the aforementioned regulation, which state that each Member State establish, maintain and publish trust lists containing information relating to qualified providers of electronic trust services, with information relating to qualified electronic trust services being provided by the latter.
As a result, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has developed a trust list of trust electronic services providers (LSC), corresponding to providers who provide qualified, established and supervised electronic trust services in Spain.
Signicat Spain (formerly know as Electronic IDentification) is a company recognised as a Trust Electronic Services Provider by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, the supervisory body responsible for verifying that trust services providers comply with the parameters and prerequisites indicated by the European Union.
